west county heathens

Greetings from the hilltowns of Western Massachusetts, where the road you see is a typical commute to other parts of the Pioneer Valley.  No snarls of cars or trails of exhaust -- just 20-35 minutes along primarily scenic byways, rivers and farms.  We are the gateway to the Berkshires.  Tanglewood is about an hour away, Boston under 2 hours, NYC 3 hours.

Bounded by Northampton, Amherst, Deerfield, Cummington and Charlemont and including Shelburne Falls, Ashfield, Plainfield, Hawley, Heath, Leyden, the area is notable for its natural beauty, intellectual vibrancy, arts, cuisine and culture:

     Nature & Culture                                           Academic Institutions

      Connecticut River Valley                                Smith College

      Deerfield River                                               Amherst College

Berkshire East Mountain Resort                      Hampshire College

Eric Carle Museum                                         Mt. Holyoke College

      Historic Deerfield                                           UMass Amherst

      Bridge Of Flowers                                           Deerfield Academy

Academy of Music                                          Northfield Mt. Hermon

      Ashfield Fall Festival

2nd oldest bowling alley in nation

      “Hadley Grass”

      numerous restaurants catering to farm-to-table

grass-fed beef and pork, free range and organic produce

We feel truly fortunate for the road that brought us here and all that we are now able to enjoy, at a slower pace and with deliberation.   We love to entertain and meet fellow Heathens and other Valley neighbors, so get in touch!

A Warm Welcome
